SERVICES

Scott Lane, Owner | As a 35-year professional in planning, design, and economics, I've been fortunate to work with many co-workers, clients and members of the public that have helped me to hone my skills. My expertise includes transportation (emphasizing complete streets), land use, economic, policy, and ecological planning for towns, cities, counties, states, and federal government as well as regional bodies such as metropolitan planning organizations.

My core philosophy is that the best results occur when a bridge is created between technical expertise and many different stakeholders. My range of experience in geographic information systems (GIS), economics, health/sustainability, and visual information conveyance provides my clientele with the ability to cost-effectively contract with an individual they know and trust to complete a project from visualization to execution. I have worked as a senior manager at two international private consulting firms, but my experience on both sides of the public and private sector "fence" helps me serve my clients better.

I am a member of the American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP), Crime Prevention through Environmental Design Specialist (CPTED, American Economics Association, Certified Sustainable Professional through ISSP, and certified as a grant writer, proofreader, copyeditor, and Master Instructor by the League of American Bicyclists (LAB).

AI Use Policy

People do people things. Robots do robot things.

AI tech is here to stay, and J. S. Lane Company and its subcontractors may use it for research at the beginning or end of assignments, but never to replace our writing. We independently, manually verify everything AI tells us, because it makes mistakes. A lot. Finally, we cite our sources. Always.
